When we look at popular first person shooter games from the 90’s one the many titles that comes to mind is Turok: Dinosaur Hunter which was released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1997. Some people can not help but feel that Turok: Dinosaur Hunter could have easily had more success than it did on the PS1.

Ever since its release for the N64 Turok: Dinosaur had managed to sell at least 1.5 million units worldwide. Also, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was also considered to be one of the best first person shooter games for the N64 next to Goldeneye 007. Even though, Turok was a big success in the N64 but the first person shooter genre was not quite as popular in the PS1 as third person shooter games.

  1. The PS1 never really managed to make use of the analogue sticks so 3d shooters were always clunky as hell using R1 and L1 to look up and down, I think that is why the only relatively popular shooters were slow methodical ones like Rainbow Six

  2. Ia ficar um cocô se rodar no PS1 com seus gráficos pixelados e cheio de tremedeiras. Foi melhor ficar só no N64 com melhor gráfico e melhor controle.
