There is no doubt that the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was one of the most popular game consoles of the 90’s. To this day many Super Nintendo titles such as Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Super Metroid, Secret of Mana and others are still loved and enjoyed on the SNES Classic. Many people miss the 16 bit era of gaming which raises the question on whether or not Nintendo should make new SNES games or not.

At this point it doesn’t really seem to make much sense to create new games for the SNES mainly due to how popular the Nintendo Switch is. Also, Nintendo is still making games for the 3DS with some of them drawing a decent amount of mainstream attention. Besides, making a physical SNES cartridge game would be useless since the hack on the SNES Mini allows players to download games that weren’t already featured on the console to begin with.
