When it comes down to the fighting genre of gaming Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II were arguably two of the most popular games of the early 90’s. In relation to which fighting game was better really depends on which version of Street Fighter II is compared to Mortal Kombat II.

While the World Warrior, Championship, Hyper and Turbo versions of Street Fighter II was fun Super Street Fighter Turbo II was without a doubt the best game in the Street Fighter II series. If one compared Super Street Fighter Turbo II to Mortal Kombat II then it would be easier to say that the Street Fighter game was better. In Super Street Fighter Turbo II players can perform super moves and has a combo system unlike Mortal Kombat II.

However, one of the many things that the Street Fighter II series had lacked was the ability that players had to perform fatalities on their opponents. The fatality feature in Mortal Kombat games overall has set series apart from Street Fighter II. But when it came down to visual presentation, gameplay and difficulty many will argue that MK 2 was the best game in the trilogy.

For those who were into a more darker and violent  fighting game Mortal Kombat II would most likely be regarded as a better video game than any of the Street Fighter II titles.  But in terms of which game was better between the final version of Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat is something that varies in what someone is looking for within a fighting game
