When Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was first released back in Spring 2016 for the PlayStation 4 is was known to be one of the most popular action adventure games of its time. Since its release for the PlayStation 4 Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has reportedly sold close to 9 million copies worldwide. As popular as the game was there are some who wonder why Uncharted 4 was never ported for the PS3 especially considering how Uncharted 3 was backwards compatible with PS3. If Uncharted 4 was backwards compatible with the PS3 the game itself may not have sold as much as it did worldwide following its release in May 2016.

The graphics for the PS3 version of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End would have paled in comparison to the PS4 port. Also, by the time Uncharted 4 was released the PlayStation 3 was about ten years old. If anything making Uncharted 4 an PS4 exclusive was a good call by Naughty Dog especially since it still remains to be one of the most popular action-adventure titles for that console in the year 2018.
