The Tomb Raider series was quite possibly one of the best action adventure titles of the 90’s for the PS1.  When it comes down to the Tomb Raider title that was released back in 1996 the game had managed to sell over 4 million units worldwide and was considered to be a huge success.   As popular as the Tomb Raider was in 1996 for some reason it was never ported for the N64 which may come as a surprise to many people.
What is also surprising was that Tomb Raider was ported for the Sega Saturn during the mid 90’s despite the fact that the console as not quite as popular as the N64.  The reason why Tomb Raider may have been released for the PS1 and the Sega Saturn and not the N64 was because it More of a 32 bit game.  During the mid 90’s the Nintendo 64 may have been the only 64 bit console that was available in retail stores.  However, there have been games in the past that were available for the PS1 and the N64 such as Mortal Kombat 4 and others.  Most likely, Core Design Ltd had no plans to bring Tomb Raider to the N64 since it such a huge success for the PS1 which was arguably more popular than the N64 during the 90’s.
