dreamcast-2

When it comes down to game consoles we all remember how cool the Sega Dreamcast and the Nintendo 64 was back in the 90’s.   The 3D graphics that we saw for games on the Nintendo 64 and the Sega Dreamcast was incredible at the time.   While the N64 was a 64 bit console the Dreamcast was actually the first 128 bit console to had ever been released in gaming markets.  Despite, the Sega Dreamcast having better graphics than the Nintendo 64 it seems like the N64 did better in terms of worlwide sales.

Since its release back in 1996, the Nintendo 64 has managed to sell over 32 million units worldwide mainly because of great games such as Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Star Fox 64 and many others.  When it comes down to worldwide sales the Sega Dreamcast hit over 10 million units worldwide between 1998 and 2001.  Even though, the Nintendo 64 might have done well than Dreamcast some would argue that it was not the most superior console.  Unlike the Sega Dreamcast Nintendo 64 did not allow people to play video games such as Phantasy Star Online through dial up connection.   The Sega Dreamcast was a pioneer when it came down to online gaming which has shaped the landscape of the gaming industry.  The Sega Dreamcast also had more detailed graphics that could play arcade quality games much better than the Nintendo 64.
