The idea of a movie based on  one of the Legend of Zelda games sounds like something that is long overdue at this point.  While the Zelda series has seen the development of many great games since the 80’s picking a particular game for a film adaptation would be somewhat difficult since there are multiple titles that many people would like to see on the big screen.  The Legend of Zelda series has wonderful classics such as Link to the Past, Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess that people would love to see film adaptations for.  Since Link is generally known as a silent protagonist in the series it would be interesting to see how that would play out in a actual movie.

The same thing goes for the Metroid series which had so many cool games such as Metroid for the NES, Super Metroid and Metroid Prime that many people would love to see adaptations for on the big screen.    Even though, the Super Mario Bros movie did not do so well in theaters the film in no way hurt the popularity of the video game series.  Also, the Legend of Zelda and Metroid series are both extremely popular to a point where one potentially bad film will not hurt either series.
