Arcade retro

Arcade centers used to be very popular back in the mid to late 80’s and 90’s.   When new games were released prior to being ported to home based game consoles the arcade center was the very first place to play a new title.   When it came down to playing video games in arcade centers people had so many options to choose from in regards to genre.  In arcade centers people had the option to play racing, beat em up, fighting, first person shooter along with many other types of games.  When it comes down to the decline in popularity of arcade centers many people wonder when the trend started.  While many people are unsure about when and why arcade centers started to decline in popularity over time some people would speculate that the trend had began sometime in the early 00’s.

It was around the mid 00’s when online gaming started to become more popular along with the fact that old school arcade games were being released for consoles such as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  Some people might even agree that the decline in arcade centers started when online gaming networks started to take over the video game industry.  With the rise of online gaming people no long had to visit arcade centers to play video games with other people which was something that was convenient.   While some people may argue that the cost of online gaming is more expensive then putting coins and quarters inside arcade machines true is that people would have to pay to drive or take to bus to go to different entertainment venues to play video games.   Even though, there are a decent amount of arcade centers in America today people generally seem to visit them on special occasions rather than general ones.
