One of the few games that many people are excited to see for the Nintendo Switch is Dragon Quest XI.  One of the cool things about Dragon Quest XI is the fact that it feels like a hybrid between retro and modern day gaming.  The mixture of both 2D & 3D graphics add a nice touch to the game which added to the overall appeal to Dragon Quest XI.  As most of us know Dragon Quest XI is one of the few games that has been highly anticipated for other game consoles besides the Switch such as PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS.  Prior to the release of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies back in 2009 many people were excited for its release due to the various features that were included in the game.  The online gameplay for Dragon Quest XI was interesting along with the 2D/3D hybrid graphics that were utilized in this game.  When Dragon Quest IX was first released for the Nintendo DS it was very impressive in terms of sales especially during its first week.

After Dragon Quest XI was first released it managed to sell at least 2.3 million copies within week one which was unreal.  Since its releasse back in 2009, Dragon Quest IX has been well known to be the best selling game within its series.  After a few years of being available in gaming markets around the world Dragon Quest XI for the Nintendo DS had managed to sell over 5.3 million units worldwide.  The artwork for Dragon Quest XI done by Akira Toriyama is just as beautiful as ever and looks very promising especially for game consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.  As far as whether or not Dragon Quest XI can sell more than IX within its first week remains to be seen.  However, with the amount of anticipation going into the release of Dragon Quest XI it would be safe to say that there is a decent chance that it could top IX in terms of sales within its first week.
