WWF WrestleMania 2000 was arguably one of the best pro wrestling tiles of the 90’s decade along with the likes of WCW vs nWo: World Tour and WCW/NWO Revenge from ’97-’98. WWF WresteMania was one of the first games to be published by THQ during the Attitude Era of the late 90’s. WWF WrestleMania 2000 had the same gameplay mechanics as the WCW titles for the n64 but it included entrance music and Titantrons for each superstar. WWF WrestleMania 2000 also featured game modes that were not in the n64 WCW games including Cage Match and a Career Mode . The Career Mode in this game was known as Road to WrestleMania and it allowed players to choose any character from the roster to play through a year worth of matches on different shows and PPV’s on a monthly basis leading up to WrestleMania.

When WWF WrestleMania 2000 came out the game was leagues above games like WCW Mayhem which also came out in ’99. The gameplay mechanics of WWF WrestleMania 2000 felt both complex and robust while having a star studded roster of characters featuring the likes “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, HHH and Mankind. WWF WresteMania 2000 was a game that any hardcore pro wrestling fan could easily get into. The control scheme was smooth the learning curve was reasonable and it felt more challenging than the WCW titles for the N64. Looking back 25 years later WWF WrestleMania 2000 was revolutionary during its time mainly because games like WWF Superstars, WWF Rage In a Cage and WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game felt pretty basic in comparison in terms of gameplay.
