The Mega Man series is one of the most iconic franchises in video game history and there are many people who are unsure on what its future hold based on what has happened recently. We learned not too long ago that the director for Mega Man 11 Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has recently parted ways with Capcom for reasons unknown to the public. Mega Man 11 was quite possibly the most commercially successful game that Capcom has produced within its series and it gained a ton of mainstream attention since its release back in Fall 2018. While the Mega Man series is not nearly as popular as Resident Evil, Monster Hunter or the Street Fighter series there is still a niche audience of gamers who are still into the Mega Man. Even though, Mega Man pales in popularity compared to the likes of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter there were still many people who desperately wanted to see a sequel to Mega Man 11 sometime in the future. As it currently stands the Mega Man series has no director and because of that we are unlikely to get a another major entry within the Mega Man series anytime in the near future. To say that the Mega Man series is officially over is jumping the gun but its unlikely that we will see a brand new entry within the series anytime in the future. If Capcom wants to put an end to the Mega Man series once and for all then MMXI would be the perfect game to retire the series considering how successful it has been within the past few years.
