Is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom worth $70?

One of the most highly video games of 2023 right now is the brand new Zelda game that is set to appear on the Nintendo Switch this upcoming May. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed Breath of the Wild game from 2017. While many people are excited about the upcoming release of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom there are many fans who are questioning Nintendo’s decision to give the game a $70 price tag. Even though, Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to one the most successful installments within the entire Zelda series some believe its pricing is absolutely ludicrous. The crazy thing about the pricing for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the fact that $70 is only the price for standard version of the game itself. Nintendo had announced that the Collector’s Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be somewhere around the ballpark of $120. There are many people who are not too happy about the pricing of Tears of the Kingdom especially considering the fact that the quality of the game will most likely resemble that of its 2017 predecessor. While the price of almost everything in America is going up due to horrible economic conditions its not to surprising that Nintendo would try to jack up the prices of their upcoming games. Normally, the standard price of a brand new Switch game would range anywhere between $49.99-$59.99 a few years ago but unfortunately everything has changed for the worse for gamers worldwide in relation to video games in general. Hopefully, the price tag for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not be detrimental to its overall sales within the next couple of years.
