Retro Gaming 10’s- Hyrule Warriors: (2014)

There are many people who remember the Hyrule Warriors game that appeared on the Wii-U console back in 2014. Hyrule Warriors was one of the few high profile Zelda games to appear after Skyward Sword from ’11 and was a non-canon title that people found interesting. The plot for Hyrule Warriors was set a century before the setting in Zelda: Breath of the Wild which came out for the Switch console back in 2017. The game had new villains named Sia and Astor and it also had co-op multiplayer gameplay. The campaign for Hyrule Warriors had seven chapters and the game itself had about fourteen playable characters including Link, Impa, Zelda, Daruk, Mipha, Revali, Hestu and others. Despite, being a spin-off game within the Zelda series Hyrule Warriors was a game that managed to break one million copies in sales. Hyrule Warriors was a solid game despite the fact that it did not feel like a traditional Zelda title; mainly because it was a hack n slash title opposed to being a action-adventure game. One of the reasons why Hyrule Warriors fell under the radar during the mid 2010’s was because the Wii-U console was a commercial failure and had low sales compared to the original Wii system from 2006. However, its quite that you see a Zelda game on a Nintendo console where players are allowed to play as variety of different characters opposed to just Link.
