GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition reaches new milestone

The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most popular action-adventure franchises of the past 25 years and many people around the world are still waiting for the official release of GTA VI. While the official release of Grand Theft Auto IV is still far away there has been a lot of talk about the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition which came out a year ago one multiple gaming platforms. When the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Definitive Edition came out back in November 2021 the game was heavily criticized by many people due to the absence of original soundtracks because of licensing issues; along with complaints about the game itself being plagued with glitches while failing to live up to many people’s desired expectations.

Despite, the initial backlash the GTA Trilogy; Definitive Edition had received it has been recently reported that the game has managed to reach roughly around 14 million copies sold worldwide within the past year. The success of the remastered GTA Trilogy shows that the series is still a huge attraction in 2022 despite how old each game within collection is. The older GTA titles from the 00’s have the explicit violence, humor and themes that are most likely going to be absent in GTA VI due to the seeming “woke” approach that RockStar Games is going to take in their upcoming installment. While the idea of a remastered version of GTA IV is not completely out of the question RockStar Games has not confirmed the development of a remake of Grand Theft Auto IV either.
