Will the survival-horror genre become more popular during 2020’s?

It seems like everyone is talking about the upcoming Silent Hill 2: Remake along with the brand new Silent Hill r title that is set to be released sometime in the near future. Also, Resident Evil has been making a ton of headlines as of late considering the fact that we are supposed to be getting the RE4: Remake along with Resident Evil RE: Verse in the near future. As it currently stands the action-adventure, RPG and shooter genre games are the most popular titles out there right now as it relates to modern day gaming in general. But it seems like society in general is getting worse and more people are going to start preferring darker and violent video games that involve psychological horror and great storytelling. While franchises like the Call of Duty series is still highly popular as it relates to the first person shooter genre the series feels far removed from how big it once was following the releases of Black Ops I & II back in 2010-2012. Also, RockStar Games is seemingly taking a more woke approach Grand Theft Auto VI which could end up devaluing its overall quality during its upcoming release along with the game itself being leaked before its official reveal trailer. Resident Evil and Silent Hill are two of the most popular survival horror franchises in the gaming world and it seems like Capcom and Konami plans on placing time and effort in making both video games series appealing to masses in the future. Its hard to predict whether or not the survival-horror genre is going to surpass the likes of the RPG, action-adventure or the shooter genre in popularity in the upcoming decade. But seeing popular games like Dying Light 2: Stay Human and Resident Evil: Village has been so far it seems like the survival-horror genre is off to a good start in terms of growing popularity in relation to 2020’s decade.
