Overwatch 2-Most anticipated first-person shooter of the 2020’s?

As many people know Overwatch 2 is one of the biggest upcoming first person shooter games of this decade and we still have an official release date for its release. The original Overwatch game was released back in early ’16 and since then it has managed to become one of the most popular video games of the 10’s decade. It was reported back in ’19 that Overwatch had managed to generate over $1 Billion in revenue while reaching at least 50 million copies in worldwide sales across multiple platforms. Overwatch is probably the best franchise that Blizzard currently has going for along with Diablo, StarCraft and World of Warcraft. Its been over six years since Overwatch was released and we still have yet to confirm an official release date for its sequel even though the reveal trailer for its sequel went viral back in 2019. We do know that Overwatch 2 has been confirmed for game systems such as the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its possible that the release date for Overwatch 2 may have been delayed because since ’19 both Sony and Microsoft had released brand new current generation consoles in 2020. Activision will have to bring Overwatch 2 to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X since the PS4 and Xbox One are considered to be outdated at this point. As far as the game itself is concerned there has been several details about Overwatch 2 that has been revealed since ’19 including what to expect in terms of gameplay. Overwatch 2 is expected to be a modified version of its predecessor that will feature both five on five PvP and PvE gameplay. The PvE gameplay in Overwatch 2 will allow four player co-op gameplay as players battle CPU controlled adversaries. Overwatch 2 is also expected to have at least 100 different missions and brand new world maps and a brand new PvP mode called “Push”; which will be accessible in both Quick and Competitive mode. While Overwatch 2 is definitely the most highly anticipated Activision game of the 20’s decade it may also very well be one of the most hyped first-person shooters that we have seen in quite some time.
