Did Kirby and the Forgotten land flop in sales?

As many people are well aware this month marks the 30th year anniversary of the Kirby series. The very first Kirby game was released on Game Boy back on April 27th of ’92 and since then it has evolved into a legendary platform series with games across almost every generation of Nintendo platforms. The most recent installment that we got to see on the Switch console was Kirby and the Forgotten Land which was released back in late February. Since its release there has been nothing but great reviews from various critics and gaming publications about Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This brand new Kirby game has been praised for its visual presentation, level design, local co-op gameplay and challenging boss battles. Despite, being a critically acclaimed platformer for the Switch console the game did not sell nearly as much as Nintendo may have expected. While the current sales figures of Kirby and the Forgotten Land is unknown it was reported that the game sold roughly under 400K within two days. Even though, Kirby and the Forgotten Land has only been out for roughly two months there is no question that the game has not reached one million copies in sales. Its possible that Kirby and the Forgotten Land can possibly reach over one million copies in sales before the end of 2022.
