Is Hot Wheels Unleashed a commercial success?

As many people are aware Hot Wheels: Unleashed was released across multiple gaming platforms in late-September 2021 including the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The initial trailer for hot Wheels: Unleashed was very impressive and the game itself lived up to its hype following its release. In fact, it has been recently reported that Hot Wheels: Unleashed has managed to reach over one million copies in sales thus far. While Hot Wheels: Unleashed is one of the most high profile racing titles of 2021; the game is obviously not as popular as Forza Horizon 5 which is arguably the best racing title of this year. Forza Horizon 5 which came out in November 2021 has managed to gain over 10 million players within the time span of two months. While Forza is arguably the biggest non Gran Turismo racing series in gaming; there is really nobody who expects Hot Wheels: Unleashed to have the type of commercial success that a Forza game would have. But since the Hot Wheels brand in general has been around since ‘68 many people are familiar with the name. Hot Wheels: Unleashed became more successful than people initially expected and has the potential to become a series of sales continue to grow.
