Did X-Men Arcade deserve a direct sequel?

When it comes down to iconic video games from the early 90’s one of the main video games that instantly comes to mind is Konami’s X-Men Arcade from ‘92. The X-Men Arcade game is considered to be legendary because it was one of the first beat ‘em up games ever to allow 6 player gameplay. X-Men Arcade has featured some of the most popular Marvel characters from the early 90’s including Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Dazzler, Colossus, Juggernaut and Magneto. X-Men in general was very popular during the early 90’s especially considering the fact that animated television series also got started in ‘92. While X-Men Arcade had gameplay that was seemed overly simplistic the overall presentation of the game itself was very impressive. In fact, some believe that Konami should of made some type of direct sequel to X-Men Arcade. Even though, we did not get a spiritual successor to X-Men Arcade back in the 90’s; we still got to see plenty of great Marvel based games that involved various popular X-Men characters. We got to see X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES along with X-Men 1 & 2 for the Sega Genesis and more between ‘92-‘95.
