Should Capcom remake Resident Evil 4 for the PS5?

When we think about high profile titles within the survival horror genre of gaming that from the 00’s one few games that comes to mind is Resident 4. Even though, Resident Evil 4 did not sell as much as its sequel Resident Evil 5 its still widely regarded as one of the greasiest video games ever made. As many people know Resident Evil 4 was considered a masterpiece by various gaming publications for its cinematic cutscenes, voice over acting, character design and gameplay. Since its initial release back in ’05 for the GameCube the console has been ported for various game systems including PS2, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and recently Nintendo Switch back in 2019. Resident 4 was without a doubt one of the best video games of the 00’s but might argue that its not as iconic as Resident Evil 2. Either way, there are many people who believe that Resident Evil 4 deserves a remake with gameplay similar to what we got with Resident Evil 2 for the PS4 & Xbox One back in 2019.

Resident Evil 4 was arguably one of the most frightening entries within the series with its dark atmosphere and theater quality cutscenes which made players feel like they were watching a horror movie. Despite, the fact that Resident Evil 4 has been ported to at least 11 different game systems Capcom should still do something special for the game’s 15th anniversary. Across every single platform that Resident Evil 4 has appeared on the game has managed to sell over 10.2 million copies worldwide within a time span of 15 years which is very impressive. Even though, Capcom has not announced anything regarding a Resident Evil 4 remake some believe that its only a matter of time before it becomes a reality. If Capcom made high definition remakes for Resident Evil 2 & 3 its almost guaranteed at some point Resident Evil 4 will get the same treatment sometime in the future.
