Upcoming Games- 30XX: (2021)

As far as upcoming video games are concerned one of the few titles that people can look forward to next year is a rougelike action platform developed by Battery Staples Games. As it currently stands 30XX is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021 on a date that has yet to be revealed. As far as gameplay is concerned 30XX is similar to that of its ’14 predecessor 20XX which was released for multiple game systems from that year forward. 20XX was popular among those who were fans of 2D action-platformers back in the late 80’s- early 90’s time period. In fact, some might go as far as to say that 20XX was better than some of the MegaMan games from back in day which appeared on the NES. The gameplay and the visuals for both 20XX were somewhat similar to anything you would see in some of the earlier MegaMan X games from the 90’s which heavily contributed to its appeal. 30XX is basically like its predecessor 20XX but with a different plot that has yet to be explained in detail. Also, similar to its predecessor 30XX is a rougelike platformer where players go on adventures and defeat various enemies and monsters as they progress throughout the game.

The artwork for 30XX stands out more than anything and the game itself looks like it could be a worthy competitor to the likes of Mega Man 11 from 2018. The 20XX game from ’14 was well received by fans and critics alike and was much better than the likes of Mighty No. 9 from 2016. If anything Battery Staples Games has something special with these two XX titles; it provides those who are fans of action-platformers with a fun alternative to what Capcom’s has been providing for years with the MegaMan series. Hopefully, we will learn more about 30XX as we get closer to its official release date in 2021. 30XX has the potential one of the top 2D action platformers of ’21 and it will be interesting to see how popular it becomes next year.
