As far as highly anticipated releases are concerned in relation to next year is concerned there are many people who are talking about Wasteland 3 an RPG which is expected to appear on multiple game consoles. As of right now Wasteland 3 does not have an exact release date but its expected to appear sometime during the first half of 2020 for game systems such as the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux and macOS. Wasteland 3 will be the direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Wasteland 2 title that first appeared on Microsoft Windows back in September 2014 before the Director’s Cut version of the game appeared on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015. Even though, we got to see a trailer for Wasteland 3 at E3 2019 there is still very little that we know about the game’s plot other than fact that it will take place in post-apocalyptic Colorado. We do know that Wasteland 3 will be developed by inXile Entertainment and will be utilizing the Unity game engine similar to that of its predecessor.
However, unlike Wasteland 2 another major difference is that Wasteland 3 will be published by Xbox Game Studios opposed to Deep Silver. Wasteland 3 has reportedly been development since late 2016 and managed to raise at least $3 million through online crowdfunding in a very short period time since it was first announced. While the Wasteland see has been around since the late 80’s the very first game that was released back in 1988 appeared on game systems such as Apple II, Commodore 64 which were not as popular as consoles such as the NES or Sega Mega Drive was during the time. In fact, PC gaming has been way more popular in the 10’s than it ever was during the 80’s or even the 90’s in general. There is no doubt that Wasteland 3 will be a huge attraction within the RPG genre in 2020 along with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077.
