For years now many gamers have wondered whether or not Sony was finished with backwards compatibility in relation to their game consoles. Even though, the PS4 did not have backwards compatibility with older generation games for the PS3 it was still a huge success and ended up becoming the best selling game console of the 10’s decade. While it seems like Sony does not need backwards compatibility they are bringing at back for the PS5 which has many people excited. There are too many PS4 titles such as God Of War, Monster Hunter World, Horizon Zero Dawn and others that people still enjoy and not having backwards compatibility for the PS5 would probably be a mistake.
In addition, to backwards compatibility it has been revealed Sony representatives that the PlayStation 5 will also include features such as split-second loading times along with processing power which will be amplified by “ray tracking” in a recent article published by Wired. The new features that will be included with the PS5 along with the upcoming release of the PSVR 2 is something that people really looking forward to. However, we are still waiting for an official release date for the PlayStation 5 which is something that Sony will hopefully reveal before the end of 2019.
