There is no question that Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has been one of the most popular titles for the Nintendo Switch since its release almost two years ago back in April 2017. Since its release Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has managed to reach over 15 million units worldwide in relation to sales and has become very popular in countries such as Japan, America along with the United Kingdom. In fact, it has recently been revealed that Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has become one of the top three video games in the UK behind Devil May Cry 5 and Red Dead Redemption. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has managed to surpass the likes of Anthem, FIFA 19 along with Super Smash Bros Ultimate in the UK and is likely to remain within the top five video games for that country for at least another month or so.
For a game that has been out for almost two years now its impressive that Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has managed to reach number three within the UK in March 2019 especially since games like Anthem, Metro Exodus and Super Smash Bros Ultimate are still considered to be new. In fact, Grand Theft Auto V has bee out since 2013 and its number ten in the UK as far as top video games are concerned. It will be interesting to see how long Mario Kart 8: Deluxe can maintain its spot throughout 2019 and whether or not it can eventually reach the top spot in the UK in general.
