When we think about two of the most popular action-adventure games to have appeared on the PlayStation 4 within the past three years both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End along with God of War are two titles that instantly comes to mind. The replay values of both games are high especially considering how interesting the storylines for both titles are. Back in 2016, many people were blown away by various aspects of Uncharted 4 such as campaign mode, sound design, animation along with the robust combat system which was praised by fans and critics alike. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End definitely exceeded the expectations of those who had waited for its release since 2013 which was around the time development of the game started prior to it announcement at Sony E3 2014. Since its release Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has reportedly sold over 8.7 million copies worldwide and is currently the best selling game for the PlayStation 4 today.
As far as this past year is concerned God of War was definitely one of the most popular PS4 games within the action-adventure genre next to the Spider-Man title that came out back in September. Since its release back in April 2018 God of War has managed to sell at least 5 million copies worldwide and considered to be the third best selling video game for the PlayStation 4 behind Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Horizon Zero Dawn. God of War has attracted a ton of mainstream attention before and after its release and has also praised for various in game elements including cinematic storytelling, optimal animation and having a superb soundtrack. In terms of which game is more successful right now some would argue in favor of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End since it managed to sell more. However, God of War for the PlayStation 4 has not even been available in retail for a full year just yet and its possible that it could eventually surpass Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sometime in the future.
