Will Metroid Prime 4 be as popular as the MP game from 2002?

The world is still waiting to hear more about Metroid Prime 4 especially since the game was announced back at E3 2017 and was initially expected to appear on the Nintendo Switch this year. In relation to gameplay, storylines or footage for that we have not heard hardly anything from Nintendo other than the fact that Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development. While its possible that Metroid Prime 4 will appear for the Nintendo Switch next year its quite uncertain how good the will be and whether or not it will be as popular as any of the previous entries that we have seen in the series. When the very first Metroid Prime game was released back in ’02 for the Nintendo GameCube it was considered to be one of the titles for that console in general. In fact, the origin Metroid Prime title won multiple “Game of the Year” awards from the publications like IGN, GameSpot, Electronic Gaming Monthly and others.

It should be noted that the original Metroid Prime game was highly anticipated and was a title that people were looking forward to since ’93 when Super Metroid was released for the SNES. The last major Metroid game that we saw on a home console was “The Other M” which was released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2010. Its quite possible that Metroid Prime 4 will end up becoming one of the most popular titles for the Nintendo Switch. But it’s hard that say whether or not Metroid Prime 4 will be every bit as popular the first MP game from ’02.
