Mortal Kombat X (2015) vs Street Fighter V (2016) which deserves a Switch port more?

There have been so many cool fighting titles that we have seen throughout the past couple of years in the 10’s decade. However, when we thing about fighting titles that were released between the 2015-2016 time period Mortal Kombat X along with Capcom’s Street Fighter V are two titles that comes to mind. While both game received a lot of mainstream art prior to their respective releases there is no question that Mortal Kombat X was definitely the more popular of the two games. The introduction of new characters such as Cassie Cage, D’Vorah, Kortal Khan along with returning ones like Johnny Cage Soyna, Sub-Zero, Kitana and Milenna made the game worth buying just for the action. With improved gaming mechanics in comparison to MK 9 and a new cinematic quality story mode Mortal Kombat X went on to sell over 5 million copies worldwide.

When Street Fighter V was was first released back in early 2016 the game was not fully complete and initially received mixed to negative reviews. But as the year progressed we eventually saw saw a cinematic story mode for the game which was pretty cool especially since it was the first time ever that we have seen that feature within a Street Fighter game in general. While favorites such as Ryu, Ken Chun-Li, Cammy, Vega and Karin were free characters while others such as Sakura and Akuma who were very popular in the series were DLC. While Street Fighter V was not quite as successful as Super Street Fighter IV it was still a very solid fighting title that deserves to be ported to the Nintendo Switch.

However, if many people were to choose one game over the other they would most likely be in favor of Mortal Kombat X being ported to the Switch console over Street Fighter V. Mortal Kombat X not only sold more than Street Fighter V but the game was almost every bit as good as MK 9 which came out in 2011 and they both cult following along with being fighting titles that exceeded the e in of many people following their respective releases.
