When we think about popular fighting titles that never appeared on the PlayStation 2 back in the early 2000’s Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes is a game that many people think about. As some might know Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes was originally released in arcade centers back in January 1998. Shortly afterwards MvC: Clash of Super Heroes was eventually ported for the Sega Dreamcast in ’99 and eventually the PS1 during the early part of 2000. However, the PS1 port of Marvel vs Capcom was inferior to the Arcade and the Dreamcast versions of the game.

Crossover gameplay was not possible on the PS1 version of Marvel vs Capcom unless it was a mirror match of two characters on both teams similar X-Men vs Street Fighter or Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. Bringing Marvel vs Capcom to the PS2 would have been awesome but unfortunately there was so much attention on the game’s sequel MvC 2: New Age of Heroes during 2000. While MvC 2 had way more playable characters some would argue that the original Marvel vs Capcom game was better and definitely deserved to a PS2 release at some point.
