As many people know both Seiken Densetsu 3 along with Phantasy Star Online 2 were arguably two of the most popular JRPG’s to never have an official release in America. While Seiken Densetsu 3 is considered to be the direct sequel to the Secret of Mana game which was very popular following its SNES release in 1993 it was definitely a game that should of appeared in America sometime in the mid 90’s in one form or another. While seeing Seiken Densetsu 3 on the SNES would have been nice the SNES was starting to decline in popularity around the mid 90’s. However, if Square Enix had made the decision bring Seiken Densetsu 3 to the PS1 during the mid 90’s it still could have possibly have been popular in both Japan & America.
While Phantasy Star Online 2 was an exciting MMORPG game following its release back in the early 10’s there is no question that American gamers were and still are into shooter titles such as Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and many others. If Phantasy Star Online 2 received an official release in America shortly following 2012 it may not have been much of a big deal. If Seiken Densetsu 3 was released for the PS1 back in the mid 90’s when 2D RPG were still somewhat of a big deal it could have definitely been an attraction for the 32-bit game console during that time period. While its hard to choose one game over the other most would probably be more lenient in choosing Seiken Densetsu 3 over Phantasy Star Online 2 on being more deserving of a official release in America.
