As many people know the Nintendo Switch is currently one of the hottest game consoles in the world right now and has been for over a year now. Ever, since March 2017 the Nintendo Switch has managed to sell approximately 20 million units worldwide and has managed to surpass the likes of the Wii-U and the Sega Dreamcast in terms of sales. While the Nintendo Switch has been a huge success so far there are some who question whether or not it will surpass or even reach the amount of sales that the Nintendo DS has between 2004-2013.

Ever since, the Nintendo DS was released back in late 2004 the game system has managed to reach over 154 million units worldwide in terms of sales. In fact, the Nintendo DS is the second best selling game console of all time behind the PlayStation 2. It would be impressive if the Nintendo Switch managed to surpass the Wii console released back in 2006 which reached over 101 million units worldwide in sales. The consoles released back in the 2000’s were some of the best that Nintendo has developed and it hard to tell if anything that they create in this day and age will surpass be as popular.
