As many people know the Neo Geo AES was one of the most underrated game consoles ever. However, when the Neo Geo AES was first released in America back in the early 90’s the console failed to achieve the same type of success that consoles such as the Super NES along with the Sega Genesis did worldwide following their respective releases. Shortly after, SNK released the Neo Geo AES in America in 1990 the game system was initially priced at $649.99. Despite, being a more superior game console than the Super NES and the Sega Genesis in terms of quality the Neo Geo AES was worth more than twice the amount of both of those game systems.

While the sales figures for the Neo Geo AES were never clear there is no question that it did not sell as much as the Super NES, Sega Genesis or the PS1. Its a shame because if the price for the Neo Geo AES was lower it could have possibly surpassed its competition despite having mostly first party games. But then again its highly unlikely that SNK would of had anything as popular as Super Mario or The Legend of Zelda which was on the Nintendo based consoles.
