As many people the Game Boy Advances was one of the most popular handheld game systems of the 00’s decade. When it comes down to eat selling titles for the Game Boy Advance games such as Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire along with Super Mario Advance 4 were huge and sold million on the handheld system following their respective releases. Ever since Super Mario Advance 4 was released back in July 2003 the game has managed to reach over 5.4 million in sales and ended up being the 7th best selling game for the Game Boys Advance.

Generally, Super Mario titles are the top selling games on any Nintendo console that the company releases. But when it comes down handheld game consoles it seems like Pokémon has been a bigger attraction than Mario. Ever since Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire were released for the Game Boy Advance back in November 2002 they managed to reach over 16 million copies worldwide and ended becoming the best selling titles for the console as well.

Not only was Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire the best selling game for the Game Boy Advance but titles such as Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen along with Emerald surpassed the Super Mario titles as well in relation to sales. There is no question that Pokémon was a bigger attraction than Mario was on the Game Boy Advance. However, on consoles such as the Nintendo DS and the 3DS some can argue in favor of Mario titles being more of an attraction than Pokémon.
