When we thin about many classic adventure titles from the 90’s one of the few titles that comes to mind is Ecco the Dolphin. The original Ecco the Dolphin game was arguably the most popular game in the entire series. Ever since, the release of the very first Ecco the Dolphin the game has bedeviled release on various game systems such as the Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Microsoft Windows Along with the Nintendo 3DS. The latest game in the series was Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future developed by Appaloosa Interactive which was released for the Sega Dreamcast back in 2000.

Since then Defender of the Future was ported for the PlayStation 2 back in 2002 but the game never received an HD remake. In fact we have never seen a major Ecco the Dolphin game since then despite how popular the series was in general. While the demand to bring back the Ecco series may be high it seems like Sega has no plans on reviving it. At this point it seems like the chances of seeing another Ecco the Dolphin game is less than likely.
