When it comes down to action-platform titles Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse was one of the most popular titles for the NES. Ever since its release Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse has been critically acclaimed along with being one the best titles within the Castlevania series in general. Despite, how successful Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse has become there are many who believe that it should have been ported to the SNES sometime during the early 90’s. Seeing Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse with detailed 16 bit graphics would have definitely been a treat back in 1990 or 1991.

However, as many of us know Konami had released Super Castlevania IV back in 1991 for the SNES. If Castlevania III was re-released for the SNES back in the early 90’s it could have possibly taken some of the shine off of Super Castlevania IV. In fact, the opposite could have happened and Super Castlevania IV could have overshadowed a SNES port of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Either way, a 16 bit version Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse on the SNES would have been very interesting see between 1990 and 1992.
