As far as games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series are concerned one of the many titles that deserves a direct sequel aside from Sonic Adventure 2 is Sonic Colors. Ever since Sonic Colors was released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2010 it was seen by various critics as being one of the best 3D Sonic games in the entire series. Since its release it has managed to sell over 2.1 million units worldwide and is considered a platform classic that deserves to be ported for the Nintendo Switch. While the demand is high for seeing Sonic Colors on the Nintendo Switch a direct sequel would be something that fans of the series would be more interested in seeing.

As of right now games like Sonic Mania are attracting the most attention in relation to the Sonic series. However, fans of the Sonic series have been waiting to see a Sonic Colors 2 for approximately eight years now. But as it currently stands Sega has no plans on making a Sonic Colors 2.
