When we think about big 2D platform games from the 90’s one of the many titles that comes to mind is the original Rayman game. Ever since Rayman was first released back in 1995 for the PlayStation and the Sega Saturn the game was eventually ported for numerous consoles. In the 00’s Rayman was ported to game systems such as the Game Boy Advance along with the Nintendo DSi. During the 10’s decade Rayman was released on mobile devices such as iOS and Android.

To try and understand why Rayman was never re-released for consoles such as the Nintendo Wii or the Wii-U between the 00’s and early 10’s is something that is simply mind boggling. But at the same time if Rayman was ever ported for the Wii it could have easily have been overshadowed by countless he likes of Mario Kart Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy and more. First party games always stood out more on Nintendo based home consoles. Also, as a 2D platformer Rayman shines more on the PS1 so having it on the Wii or Wii-U would not have been much of a big deal.
