As of right now the Nintendo Switch along with the Xbox One are two of the hottest game consoles in retail worldwide next to the PlayStation 4. While the Xbox One was released back in late 2013 the Nintendo Switch came out in March 2017. Ever since the release of Nintendo Switch last year the hybrid console has become immensely popular. The Nintendo Switch has reportedly sold over 17 million units worldwide in less than two years which is very impressive. With big first party games such as Super Mario Odessey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and others it seems like the Nintendo Switch has attracted a ton of mainstream attention.

While the Xbox One also has been gaining mainstream popularity as of late with upcoming video games it has also been in the limelight due to its cross-platform gaming features with titles such as Minecraft and Fortnite. Despite, how popular the Xbox One has been since 2013 it seems like the Nintendo Switch has been in the news a lot more lately especially since the console is still very new. While the sales for the Nintendo Switch have been impressive for over the past year it looks like it could potentially surpass the Xbox One within the next few years. While an exact estimate of sales involving the Xbox One was never revealed many are speculating there has been somewhere between 25 and 30 million units sold worldwide. Since the release price for the Xbox One started at $399 its not too much of a surprise why the console failed to sell at least half of what the PS4 did.
