When it comes down to the 2D fighting genre of gaming the Street Fighter II is legendary. There have been countless different versions of Street Fighter II releases for multiple game consoles throughout the years including the SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2 and more. But when we look back at the early 90’s some might find it strange that Super Street Fighter II: Turbo was never released for the Sega Genesis or even for the SNES.

After all, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo was released for the Sega Genesis along with the SNES. In fact Street Fighter Alpha 2 was released for the SNES back in 1996. If Capcom could make Street Fighter Alpha 2 work for the SNES despite how inferior it was to the arcade version then SSFII: Turbo could have definitely have work on Nintendo’s 16 bit console as well. However, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo was eventually port for the Game Boy Advance along with the Sega Dreamcast years later and worked better on those systems than they would have on the SNES or the Sega Genesis.
