When we think about racing titles for the Nintendo 3DS one of the main games that instantly comes to mind is Mario Kart 7. Since its release for the Nintendo 3DS Mario Kart 7 has managed to sell at least 17 million copies worldwide and is seen as one of the best selling games for the Nintendo 3DS. The cool thing about Mario Kart 7 was that the visuals and graphic were reminiscent of Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo back in the mid 90’s.

As popular as Mario Kart 7 was for the Nintendo 3DS there are some who question whether or not this game could have worked on the Nintendo Wii back in the early 10’s. On one hand Mario Kart 7 could definitely have shined on the Nintendo Wii. But then again it would be hard to tell if Mario Kart 7 would have sold nearly as much as Mario Kart Wii following its release in 2008. Since its release Mario Kart Wii has managed to sell over 37 million units worldwide and became one of the Wii’s best selling games. Its possible that Nintendo did not feel that they could top Mario Kart Wii in terms of sales which may be one of the read why Mario Kart 7 was released for the Nintendo 3DS back in 2011.
