Sonic CD was a popular 2D platformer back in the early 90’s. In fact it was probably the most underrated Sonic title back in the early 90’s because it does not get talked about in the same light as titles such such as Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 in terms of success. If Sonic CD was re-released for the Sega Dreamcast in the late 90’s it’s questionable on whether or not it would have me more success on the 128 bit console opposed to the Sega CD.

On one hand Sonic CD could have stood out as a 2D platforms on the Sega Dreamcast. Also, Sonic CD could have definitely sold more in Dreamcast since more people owned the console opposed to the Sega CD. However, by the late 90’s people where more interested in 3D gaming. With titles like Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur and Shenmue Sonic CD could have definitely overshadowed Sonic CD during the late 90’s.
