Phantasy Star I-IV is probably the most memorable set of RPG titles that the world has seen on the Sega Genesis. The graphics for each game looked impressive and had a unique look as far gameplay was concerned. Despite, how popular Phantasy Star I-IV was on Sega Genesis there are some who question whether or not those games could have been big on the SNES if Nintendo and Sega were not competing against each other back in the 90’s.

On one hand it would have been interesting to see what Phantasy Star I-IV would have looked looked like on the SNES. However, Phantasy Star I-IV could have easily have been overshadowed many RPG’s produced by Square Enix such as Final Fantasy IV-VI, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. If anything Phantasy Star I-IV were successful mainly because they stood out more on the Sega Genesis. There is good chance that the Phantasy Star would not have been as successful on the SNES as it was on the Sega Genesis.
