Even though, Metroid Prime did not sell as much as Super Mario Sunshine its was still one of the best titles of 2002 and is viewed by many as one of the best games of all time. The appeal that Metroid Prime had in the early 00’s was similar to Super Mario 64 for the N64 in sense that it was the first 3D installment in the series.

Also, Metroid Prime was the first home based console game that the world saw since Super Metroid which was released back in 1994. The graphics, gameplay and soundtrack for Metroid Prime exceeded the expectations of many people back in the early 00’s.
