As many people know Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was one of the biggest crossover fighting titles of the early 10’s.  Since the release of Marvel vs Capcom 3 back in Spring 2011 the game had managed to sell over 2 million copies within two months and considered to be a household name within the fighting genre.  There were so many characters such as Wolverine, Deadpool, Storm, Phoenix, Magneto along with others who made Marvel vs Capcom 3 seem more interesting than Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.  Even though, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has better gameplay with the inclusion of the Infinity Stones some would argue that Capcom took a step backwards with the two on two battles opposed to three on three which was used in the prequel.

Even though, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite only had two on two gameplay  the inclusion of a story mode arguably made up for other aspects of the game such as roster depth along with three on three battles which was included in titles such as Dragon Ball FighterZ.  But ever since Marvel vs. Capcom was released back in September 2017 the game has already managed to sell at one million units worldwide.  Maybe in about a year from now the sales for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite can increase over time to 2 or 3 million units sold. However, in terms of initial success there are some people who are willing to give Marvel vs. Capcom 3 the slight edge over Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in terms of success.
