Ever since its release back in the Fall of 2013 the PlayStation 4 has done great in terms of sales.  In fact some might argue that the PlayStation 4 has been the best selling console of the 10’s decade since it was released and is coming close to reaching over 100 million units worldwide in terms of sales.  Recently, there has been speculation that the PlayStation 4 will eventually hit 100 million units in terms of consoles sold before the release of the PS5.  As it stands right now the PS4 has sold already sold over 70 million units worldwide in terms of sales and as popular as the game console is right not reaching 100 million units worldwide 2019 seems like an achievable goal.

With big games such as Kingdom Hearts III coming out exclusively for the PlayStation 4 those who don’t currently have a PS4 might considering purchasing the console sometime in 2018.  While the Nintendo Switch has been seen by many people as the most popular console in the gaming world the PS4 has way more games than the Switch along with the fact that Virtual Reality is starting to catch on which make the PlayStation 4 more attractive in the eyes of the masses.  While the PlayStation 4 is skyrocketing in terms of sales its questionable on whether or not it will surpass the sales record of the PlayStation 2 which hit over 155 million units worldwide.
