Horizon Zero Dawn is without a doubt one of the most popular action playing role games of 2017.  Since its release Horizon Zero Dawn has managed to sell over 3 million units worldwide on the PlayStation 4.  As great as Horizon Zero Dawn looks on the PlayStation 4 there are some who question whether or not this game could have had the same amount of success if it was released for other game consoles like the Xbox One.  After all, when comes to visuals and graphics some would make the argument that the Xbox One is just as good as the PS4.

While the idea of having Horizon Zero Dawn for the Xbox One sounds great in theory the one of the main problems is that the developer Guerrilla Games is completely owned by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.  Horizon Zero Dawn is a PS4 exclusive because Guerrilla Games main purpose is to make games  only for that console which is why we will never see it for the Xbox One.  While Horizon Zero Dawn uses the Decima game engine which is only utilized only in PS4 games seeing this title on the Xbox One would have been interesting only because it would of have a different game engine such as the Unreal Engine if Guerrilla Games was not owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
