The Mario Party series has been around since the mid to late 90’s when it first got started on the Nintendo 64. The Mario Party titles generally includes a series of mini games where multiplayer gameplay puts people against one another while utilizing some of the main characters in the Super Mario series. While the Mario Party games are considered to be very fun to play some wonder whether or not it could have became popular in 2D.

After all, we did get to see Tiny Toons Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge developed by Konami in the early 90’s which was probably the closest thing to Mario Party on the SNES in terms of gameplay. Even though, a Mario Party could have worked on the SNES back in the early 90’s it probably would not have gotten as popular as it did if the series had began on the N64 in the late 90’s.
