Spyro the Dragon Wallpaper (2)

We all know that the Spyro series has been around since the late 90’s and remember how popular it was during that time period for the original Sony PlayStation console.  Since the start of the 00’s it seems like the Spyro series had began to decline in popularity after being featured on various game consoles such as PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and the Xbox 360.  As many of us know platform games were not quite as popular in the 00’s as they were in the 80’s and the 90’s due to first person shooter genre of gaming becoming more popular over time.  If Spyro games were featured exclusively  on consoles such as Nintendo Gamecube or even the Wii or the Wii-U they could have possibly done better in terms of sales.  While we did get The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon for the Nintendo Wii back in 2008 the game was also featured for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS along with the Xbox 360.  Out of all of the game consoles the Nintendo Wii version of The Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon had sold the most by reaching over half a million units worldwide.

If we got to see a Spyro game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch there is a decent chance that it would do pretty well.  When it comes down to platform genre of gaming  there are many titles that stand out more on Nintendo based consoles then for Xbox or PlayStation based game systems.   However, one of the few problems with having a Spyro game for the Nintendo Switch is the fact that it can be overshadowed by games like Super Mario Odyssey which is most likely going to be the most popular platform game for that console.  However, a Spyro the Dragon game for the Nintendo Switch can do great in sales if the game is marketed properly by the developer.
