There are many people who will probably agree that 2017 has been a good year for the gaming industry so far. We got to see the release of so many exciting new games along with the the debut of the Nintendo Switch back in March 2017. This is after seeing the debut of the Oculus Rift and the PlayStation VR along with the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro back in 2016. While Nintendo has been off to a great start this year with the debut of the Switch console along with so many exciting new games such as Mario Kart Deluxe 8 thing seem like they are going to get better over time. While 2017 may be a promising year for the gaming industry many of us are unsure what the year 2018 is going to hold. Also, things may become a little bit tougher for Nintendo as a company as we get closer to 2018.

The release of the Xbox Scorpio and the PlayStation Neo is something that many people are looking forward to between late 2017 and 2018. Both consoles are rumored to be extremely powerful while including advanced visuals and 4K features that would make anyone want to buy each console. While the prices for both the PlayStation Neo and the Xbox Scorpio might be alarming Nintendo could possibly use it do their advantage if they market their products in a clever way while selecting reasonable prices for the games and accessories for the Switch along with the New 3DS XL.

While good pricing can work to the favor of Nintendo they would still have deal with the fact that Virtual Reality is starting to become more popular around the world. Even though, the cost for Virtual Reality headsets such as the PlayStation VR or the Oculus Rift can range any where between $400-$800 there are people who are willing to pay for them since they are very hot in the gaming market right now. As of right now we have not heard much about Nintendo implementing a process that would provide Virtual Reality features for Switch games. However, if Nintendo does decide to move on to Virtual Reality sometime in 2018 it will be interesting to see how things play out between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
