Fast Racing Neo

When it comes down to futuristic racing games for Nintendo F-Zero is one of the most recognizable series in the gaming industry.  In fact F-Zero is a racing series that many people who are long time fans of Nintendo want to see revived.  Since F-Zero GX was released back in 2003 many people around the world have waited for Nintendo to make a sequel and it has become clear over time that its not going to happen anytime soon.  However, back in December 2015 a video game company known as Shin’en Multimedia developed and released a game that is similar to F-Zero called Fast Racing Neo.   While this game does not have much of a story mode it does have high quality visuals and gaming mechanics that resemble the latest F-Zero game in some ways.

In Fast Racing Neo players can racing in Grand Prix mode to compete for multiple cups including Cobalt, Xenon, Titanium and Neon Cup.  While the game looks visually impressive some people would argue that the game is more difficult than some of the F-Zero titles.  The difficultly in racing in relation to the artificial intelligence is one of the things that makes the game fun for some people and challenging to others.  In terms of racing against CPU controlled opponents Fast Racing Neo seems just as difficult if not more than Race Driver: Grid.  In Fast Racing Neo players will be luck to finish within the top three in each course.  Also, Fast Racing Neo is one of those games where players are almost guaranteed to lose if they crash once or twice.   Once a CPU controlled opponent takes the lead in first place it becomes extremely difficult to pass them. Also, once players come in first place its very hard to stay in first.  In terms of whether or not the game is worthy enough to be compared to F-Zero is without question.  In fact, not having a story mode is one of the things that makes Fast Racing Neo exciting because it allows players to start racing once they play the game.
