As we all know Super Mario Odyssey is suppose to be released sometime later in 2017.  In terms of visual display Super Mario Odyssey looks very impressive.   When it comes down to games like Super Mario Odyssey which resembles the likes of Super Mario Sunshine in terms of gameplay they are generally single player only games.  While games such as Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 were both open world 3D games Nintendo also produced multiplayer games such as the two galaxy games for the Wii.  If Nintendo decides to include a multiplayer mode for Super Mario Odyssey it would definitely add to the overall appeal to the game itself.

Not only that the addition of a multiplayer would almost feel like somewhat of a sequel of Super Mario Galaxy 2 but with a different theme.  While the Super Mario Galaxy series placed emphasis on the “Star Festival” in relation to the Mushroom Kingdom focuses more on reality based setting such as “New Doink City” which is inspired by New York City.   But in terms of actual gameplay the only thing we know for sure right now is that Super Mario Odyssey is a single player game.  If Super Mario Odyssey is very successful for the Nintendo Switch then Nintendo should probably create a multiplayer sequel to the game.  It’s going to be interesting to see and learn more about Super Mario Odyssey as we get closer to its release later in 2017.
